By utilizing a smartphone affixed to the halter of a pregnant mare, the Foal App notifies users via an alarm and video call whenever the mare lays down, indicating a potential foaling. This feature enhances situational awareness and timely response during this critical time.

The integrated video and audio feed help discern false alarms, thereby reducing unnecessary trips to the barn during late hours. Additionally, users can initiate on-demand video calls at any moment to check on their mare’s condition.

Beyond foaling, this app is also advantageous for monitoring ill horses, providing surveillance and alerts when a horse is in distress.
